Eric James Mellon Stoneware Plate Horse Plate Signed & Dated 1969 9.5 small handbag also an early marking practice also an early marking practice This is an art deco era plate made by Susie Cooper in a pattern that is unknown to me I could not find a similar example anywhere Mellon tended to draw nudes and mythological figures so this singular image of a horse is different although he did incorporate horses into some of his painted ceramic scenes and did do a horse head sculpture The underside rim is signed Eric James Mellon A Elm Ash 1969
